Eze Sampson Abuja, Nigeria —

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Hon. Ada Frederick Okwori, has issued a bold and confident declaration positioning the party as a credible, people-driven alternative in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
Addressing journalists at the party’s national secretariat, Hon. Okwori made it clear that the NDP is undeterred by the dominance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasizing that the party’s very existence is rooted in courage, legality, and a commitment to national progress.
“We are not afraid of any political party not even the APC. If we were, we would not have gone through the rigorous registration process with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” she stated.

Hon. Okwori highlighted that the NDP’s formation was not accidental but the result of a determined struggle for democratic inclusion. Following due legal processes, including a decisive court ruling, the party secured its rightful place in Nigeria’s political space.
According to her, the NDP stands on a foundation of transparency, credibility, and adherence to democratic principles, qualities she asserts make the party “even more authentic” than existing political structures including the APC.

While acknowledging past support for the current administration, the NDP leadership expressed concern over persistent economic hardships faced by Nigerians. Hon. Okwori noted that rising costs of essential goods, including staple foods and everyday commodities, have placed immense pressure on citizens.
“If Nigerians were truly comfortable, we wouldn’t be here. We have stepped in to address the gaps and offer real solutions,” she said.
She stressed that Nigeria’s vast human and natural resources must be harnessed effectively to improve citizens’ quality of life, adding that governance should translate into tangible benefits for the people.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Hon. Okwori assured Nigerians that the NDP will present a formidable presidential candidate capable of redefining leadership and restoring economic stability.
“We are committed to giving Nigerians the leadership they yearn for. Come 2027, watch out for the NDP, we will make a mark,” she declared.

Responding to concerns about potential external interference which many believe come from the ruling party which often described metaphorically as the “hand of the monkey” in Nigerian political discourse, Hon. Okwori dismissed such fears, reaffirming the party’s integrity.
“We came into this system clean and clear. Our journey was lawful and transparent. We are not afraid of any form of interference,” she emphasized.
She further challenged critics to scrutinize the origins of other political entities, maintaining that the NDP’s legitimacy is unquestionable.

The National Democratic Party is a newly established political party in Nigeria, committed to democratic ideals, economic revitalization, and people-centered governance. With a strong foundation rooted in legality and transparency, the party aims to redefine leadership and deliver sustainable development for all Nigerians.
