In the early hours of Monday morning, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State appointed Omobayo Marvellous Godwins as his new deputy, following the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, by the Edo State House of Assembly. Omobayo Marvellous Godwins is currently 38 years old and hails from Akoko-Edo, Edo North Senatorial District. Shaibu’s impeachment came after the State Assembly adopted the report of a seven-man panel that investigated allegations of misconduct against him. The panel, led by retired Justice S. A. He said this at a House of Representatives hearing on the sale of two College helicopters.
